Serve Emmett Day is coming up Saturday, May 9th. I hope you have marked your calendars for that morning... or I am going to have a lot of work to do by myself! :)
In preparation for this day, we are currently collecting the projects. The deadline to submit projects is this Monday, April 27th. You can submit them here:
Our hope is to collect projects from our neighborhoods, so please keep your eyes open. We only have a few turned in so far.
Once the projects are in, we will need help organizing the projects... determining how many helpers we need for each project, what resources, who we can use as a leader, etc. We can't do this on our own. We need knowledgeable people to help. The pastors will be meeting Tuesday afternoon, so if you can help in this way, let us know by Monday.
Once organized, we will post the organized projects on the website (www.emmettcompassion.org) by May 1st so that we can then all go and sign up for the project that best fits our skillsets. And yes there will be projects for all skillsets... even no skillsets! We could also use some donations to cover any expenses we may incur.
Let me know if you would like to be involved in some of the planning stages (mailto:firstname.lastname@example.org). Also, let me know what questions you may have.
